The Dreamer Behind the Threads/
From an early age, Kaniya (Kuh-nEYE-Yuh) has always been quite literally, exactly who she was. A curious illuminated soul filled with mere bliss, naively eager to explore the world. As an African-American, within this world alone has its own plights, though she has conquered internal tribulations of discovery. Understanding the dense ordinary senses of the world, she repressed authentic expression. Submerged in much life, she found the liveliness of the world, through dance, music, craft, games, fashion, dolls, outdoors– I mean, really, all to explore her expansive mind. Resulting, she found praise within every interest and yearned for more. Nurturing such an excitable soul entails an even livelier village. Surrounded immensely by soulful-rich individuals, soundly Kaniya was able to bloom. Grateful internally for those spaces, through them, Kaniya can simply be. All in which she may, she’ll forever hold the intent of the love she’s composed of. As she blossoms into the universe, may she fulfill dreams of creation just as radiant.

The Journey of Threads/
The journey into creativity fell natural almost as if such force was embedded into her code. Genetically making these unfiltered fabrications of her mind, truly she was a creator. Having found many mediums such as gimp, Rainbow Loom rubber-bands, Perler Beads, sewing, bracelet making– Really from the ripe ages her hands have been moving. Though Kaniya always knew that there was more where any of all came from. Intrinsically once upon a spool, she discovered the power of hands through the matriarchal figures of her life. Seeing in which they weaved eternal loops of memoir through every lesson, she was hooked. Stitching together each story-filled mother, she stagnantly becomes the quilt of their hands. All of which led to acknowledge the impacts of our foremothers, leading to the enlightenment of their wisdom. Bounded in the exploration of her Grandest- Mothers’ hands, truly she remains obliged to have discovered their medium.

Entering this quiet corner, this universe of woven fairytale, bestows an undiscovered fulfilment of the soul. What starts as a single strand, into another single loop– humble, small, unassuming– entwines dreams in a world of natural imagination. One stitch becomes another, craft from curiosity and devotion, each piece composes a spell of protection, bliss, and a thread of healing stitched together into your everyday. As these treasures intertwine hearts, stories, and worlds through every knot, we cradle memoirs of care, creativity, and comfort. Cloaked as the artist, I mend the fabrication of these woven wonders, guardians of spirit from the highest. A believer in the silent power of creation, I see each design as the chance to bring light into this darkened world– mere lanterns of soft reminder that we can heal, uplift, and inspire through self. May we together bend timeless connections to harmonize a new song, operating as infinite beings.
